About Ego
Ego is an AI planner for iPhone. A small council of AI “alters” reads what you say or write and where your time goes, and books what helps onto your calendar.
Who makes it
Ego, the app and this website, is made and run by VLAI. You can reach us at support@theego.org; we read every message.
Why it exists
Planning on Sunday and losing the plan by Wednesday isn’t a discipline problem. Most planners hand you a blank calendar and a list of goals you never reopen. Ego starts from your own days instead: a few lines you say or type, the places you spend time, and when you’re busy.
How it works
Each alter guards one part of your life, such as your training, a craft or your money, and follows a written method for it. The alters debate and vote on each idea, without you. An idea that passes becomes a block in a real free slot, with the steps written out. You do it or remove it; there’s nothing else to manage.
What we hold ourselves to
- Quiet by default. An alter only proposes something when your own data shows strong evidence it moves a goal forward. Before every change we test the council on made-up lives: it has to act on real evidence and stay silent without it.
- Your calendar stays yours. Only the start and end times of your events leave your phone, never their titles or details.
- AI only after you agree. What you share goes to an AI service from another company only to run your council, and isn’t used to train AI models. The privacy policy names who processes your data.
- No ads, no streaks. Ego is paid for by its subscription: $9.99 a month or $69.99 a year, with the first week free.
- Gone when you say so. Settings → Delete account erases everything.
Not advice
The council’s ideas are suggestions to help you plan, not medical, mental-health, financial or professional advice. Ego is not for emergencies: in the US, call or text 988.
